LED video walls have become an essential part of the worship experience, helping churches share sermon notes, song lyrics, videos, announcements, and live camera feeds with their congregations. When an LED wall begins flickering or displaying intermittent glitches, however, it can quickly become a major distraction during services.

Recently, PMT Solutions Group was contacted by a church experiencing persistent glitches with its existing LED display. The issue had continued for approximately two years. During that time, the church had worked with several different technicians, but no one had been able to provide a lasting solution.

The Problem

The church’s LED wall was experiencing intermittent visual glitches and unstable performance. Because the problem did not always appear in the same way, identifying its exact cause was difficult.

Issues like this can be related to several parts of an LED system, including:

  • Incorrect or corrupted configuration files

  • Receiving-card mapping errors

  • Processor configuration problems

  • Unstable data transmission

  • Incorrect cabinet or module parameters

  • Damaged data cables or internal connections

  • Compatibility issues between the processor and receiving cards

The display could still operate, but it was not reliable enough for live worship services.

Our Initial Recommendation

After evaluating the system, we initially recommended replacing the existing video processor. Upgrading the processor would have provided a more modern control platform and potentially simplified the system configuration.

However, the customer preferred to keep the existing processor and avoid the additional replacement cost.

We understood their concerns and continued looking for a solution that would work with their current equipment.

The Solution

Instead of replacing the processor, our technicians carefully reviewed the entire LED control configuration and rebuilt the necessary configuration files for the existing system.

The work included:

  • Checking the complete signal path

  • Reviewing the processor and receiving-card settings

  • Verifying the cabinet and module mapping

  • Rebuilding the LED screen configuration files

  • Reloading the corrected parameters into the system

  • Testing the screen under normal operating conditions

  • Confirming image stability and consistent performance

After the corrected files were loaded and the system was thoroughly tested, the glitches disappeared.

The Result

After dealing with the problem for approximately two years and working with multiple technicians, the church’s LED wall was successfully repaired during our first service visit.

The church was able to keep its existing processor, avoid the immediate cost of a full control-system replacement, and restore reliable operation to the LED display.

The system has remained stable since the repair.

Why Proper Configuration Matters

Not every LED display problem is caused by failed hardware. In some cases, replacing modules, receiving cards, cables, or processors will not solve the underlying issue.

LED walls rely on correctly matched configuration parameters, including:

  • Module resolution and scan mode

  • Receiving-card loading capacity

  • Cabinet mapping and data flow

  • Refresh rate and grayscale settings

  • Driver IC parameters

  • Processor output configuration

An incorrect configuration file can make a functioning LED display appear to have a serious hardware failure. Proper diagnosis is therefore critical before replacing expensive components.
